Cheers Season 1 in HD is the opening run of the classic 1980s US sitcom, sitting alongside other long running comfort comedies like Frasier and Taxi. This is a digital “to buy” box set for your Apple TV library, so you’re purchasing permanent access rather than renting, with HD video that tends to hold up well on modern screens for a studio sitcom of its era.
Who is this for?
If you’ve only seen clips, Season 1 is where the show’s rhythm clicks into place, with Sam Malone’s ex athlete charm bouncing off Diane’s sharp edges, and the bar regulars quickly becoming the real draw. It’s also a good starting point if you want the full character arc, as the early episodes set up relationships and running jokes that pay off for years.
- HD purchase: better clarity than older SD transfers, useful on larger TVs
- Apple TV library: watch across Apple devices once bought
