Steam’s Free to Play Weekend lets you jump into two very different PC games without paying up front. Battlefield 6 sits in EA’s long running Battlefield range and goes head to head with big multiplayer shooters like Call of Duty and the more tactical end of the spectrum. Stranded Deep is a smaller scale survival game, closer in feel to The Forest or Green Hell, focused on resource gathering and staying alive rather than competitive play.

Which one should you try first?

If you want loud, squad based multiplayer, Battlefield 6 is the obvious starting point, tanks, jets and combined arms battles reward teamwork and smart positioning. If you prefer a slower pace, Stranded Deep leans on exploration, crafting and managing hunger, thirst and injuries as you work out how to escape your island chain.

  • Battlefield 6: large scale matches, vehicles and class based squad play.
  • Stranded Deep: solo or co op survival, crafting tools and shelter to keep going.
