LEGO Astro Bot 40899 sits in LEGO’s pop culture and gaming tie in range, the sort of set that competes with other small display builds based on well known characters. If you know Astro Bot from PlayStation’s family friendly platformers, this is a neat desk piece that leans more towards charm than complexity, with enough character detail to feel recognisable once it is built.
Who is this for?
It suits PlayStation fans who want something quick to build, then keep on a shelf next to a console or controller stand. It also works as a gift for someone who likes LEGO but does not want a long, technical build. If you are buying for a younger builder, it is the kind of set where the fun is in the finished model and the references, rather than advanced techniques.
- Display focused build, aimed at showing off Astro Bot’s look rather than packing in play features.
- Gaming tie in appeal, best appreciated if the character means something to you.
