Monster Hunter Wilds came out earlier this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This is the Steelbook edition, so you get a metal case with it. The game is the same loop Monster Hunter has always been: hunt big monsters, carve them up, make armour from the bits, hunt bigger monsters. It's been doing this since 2004 and somehow it still works.

Builds on Monster Hunter World from 2018, with bigger open areas and weather that changes how monsters behave. Up to four in co-op. If you liked World or Rise, this is more of that. If you've never played one, Wilds is a reasonable place to start the opening hours are gentler than they used to be.
