Wetherspoon’s Autumn Beer Festival is a short-run showcase that sits alongside its regular cask range, competing with other pub-chain festivals by focusing on variety and limited availability rather than a single brewery tap takeover. Across 12 days in October, the line-up rotates through 30 real ales, so it’s the sort of event where the interesting pint today might not be on the bar tomorrow.
What makes this festival different?
The headline here is the international mix. Five of the ales come from overseas brewers, and every festival beer is new to Wetherspoon, which should appeal if you’ve worked your way through the usual suspects. It’s also the first time the festival has included a real ale from Singapore and one from Ukraine, adding a bit of novelty for tickers and curious drinkers alike.
- Dates: Wednesday 7 to Sunday 18 October (inclusive)
- Range: 30 real ales, with a rotating selection
- International picks: China, Denmark, Singapore, Ukraine and the USA
