Valor Mortis is an upcoming action game heading to Xbox Game Pass on day one for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It sits in that dark, story driven corner of the catalogue alongside other combat led adventures, leaning on a historical hook rather than sci fi or fantasy. The premise, hinted at in the blurb, starts with you serving Napoleon, dying in his wars, then carrying on in a grim afterlife setting, which suggests a campaign built around momentum, melee encounters and a strong central mystery.
Who is this for?
If you like single player games that push you forward with atmosphere and close quarters fighting, this looks like your sort of download. Game Pass also suits anyone who prefers trying a new release without committing to a full purchase, especially when you are unsure how long the campaign runs or how replayable it is.
- Playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Game Pass
- Day one availability on 24 September 2026
