Steam’s Free Weekend gives PC players a chance to try two very different multiplayer-friendly games without paying upfront. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII sits at the strategy end of the scale, part of Firaxis’ long-running Civ series and competing with the likes of Humankind and Old World for that “one more turn” empire-building feel. First Class Trouble goes the other way, a social deduction party game in the mould of Among Us, focused on bluffing, teamwork and sudden betrayals.
Which one should you spend your weekend on?
Go for Civilization VII if you enjoy long-form planning, expanding cities, juggling diplomacy and steering an empire through distinct Ages. It rewards patience and smart trade-offs. Pick First Class Trouble if you want quicker rounds with friends, where reading people matters as much as any objective.
- Civilization VII: best when you can commit to longer sessions and like deep strategy.
- First Class Trouble: best for voice chat groups and shorter, replayable matches.
