M&S Opticians offers free hearing tests at selected stores, run by their in-house hearing aid audiologists. It's the same kind of free screening service Specsavers and Boots provide, a sensible thing to book if you haven't had your hearing checked recently, especially as gradual hearing loss is easy to miss.

What's included?

Two options, both free. The quick hearing screening is a pass-or-fail check that flags whether you're in normal hearing range. If anything comes up, they'll book you in for a fuller hearing health check, which covers ear canal health and a more detailed assessment. You can bring a friend or family member along if you'd find that easier.

M&S recommend an annual check if you're over 50, every two years over 40. Appointments are booked online through the site's store locator.
