Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on PS5 sits in 2K’s long running 4X strategy series, competing with the likes of Humankind and Age of Wonders for that “one more turn” pull. It’s the console friendly route into empire building, where you balance expansion, diplomacy, warfare and research, but with the comfort of playing from the sofa and saving your progress between sessions.

Who is this for?

If you enjoy thoughtful, turn based planning and the slow burn of building a civilisation over hours, this is the sort of game that rewards patience. PS5 is also a good fit if you prefer a pad over mouse and keyboard, or you want strategy without the commitment of a PC setup. Expect plenty of replay value, since different leaders, map layouts and approaches can push each campaign in a new direction.
