The Rab Women's Glaceon Pro Jacket in Red Grapefruit/Tuscan Red is a warm, technical down jacket for winter hillwalking, mountaineering, and other cold-weather activities. It is made mostly of recycled materials and is very good at keeping you dry. It works well as a "big warm puffy" for winters in the UK and the Alps, but it also packs down well enough to fit in a backpack.

The jacket has about 250-265 g of 700 fill power recycled down in it (the amount varies slightly by size). This gives it a high warmth-to-weight ratio that is more than enough for days below zero, windy summits, and static belays. The down is treated with a hydrophobic finish that doesn't contain fluorocarbon, which makes it less likely to get wet and dries faster than untreated down. This helps it keep its loft in the damp UK climate.

The 20D recycled Pertex Quantum Pro outer shell is light but strong, windproof, and very water-resistant. It has a microporous coating and fluorocarbon-free DWR to keep snow and light rain off. A 20D recycled Pertex Quantum lining on the inside traps still air to make the insulation work better. It also has a DWR treatment that doesn't use fluorocarbon.

The jacket has a down-filled hood that can be adjusted to fit a helmet and has a stiffened peak.It also has a two-way YKK Vislon front zip with an insulated storm flap and a soft tricot-lined chin guard for comfort when fully zipped. There are two covered hand pockets and a hidden chest pocket, all with YKK zippers. The cuffs are adjustable and stretchy, so they fit well over gloves. The fit is regular, so you can wear it over midlayers without feeling bulky.

The down and the shell and lining fabrics are all recycled, which cuts down on waste and the overall impact. Rab also no longer includes a stuff sack as standard to cut down on unnecessary material use. A typical women's size weighs about 560 g, which is light for how warm and feature-rich it is. This makes it a great choice for mountain use in the cold, winter walking, or just staying warm every day.
